Poster Submission InformationThe Kentucky Psychological Science Conference planning committee hopes to support a vigorous research exchange among all psychologists in the state: researchers, practitioners, educators, as well as students. In keeping with this goal, posters representing a broad range of psychological inquiries from any area of psychology are welcome. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three presenters in the Undergraduate Poster Competition and the top three presenters in the Graduate Poster Competition. Additionally, in keeping with the spirit of professional development, presenters will receive constructive feedback on their research. Cash prizes will be distributed as follows:
A good quality and competitive poster presentation will include a logical and clearly stated research hypothesis, a good review of relevant literature, an appropriate choice of research design, a clear presentation of high-quality data, and reasonable conclusions based on findings. A copy of the scoring rubric may be accessed from the link below. The Kentucky Psychological Science Conference judges recommend that students review the guidelines and discuss them with their faculty sponsor in preparing their presentations.
Posters and presentations may include recently completed work, work that is in print or in the press, and work for which pilot data are available. Work that is to be presented elsewhere also is acceptable. All submissions should include a title and abstract (maximum 150 words). In addition to completed posters, we are also accepting Emerging Research posters. The emerging research category is meant to allow undergraduates to submit in-progress research, as we know some data collection is incomplete by our required submission deadline. Emerging Researchers will create a poster with their research idea, including a literature review and research questions section, along with a 3-5 minute presentation. Emerging research will receive feedback, and one student will be named as the Emerging Research winner. If you would like to submit emerging research, please be sure to indicate so on your registration form and include "Emerging Research" at the beginning of your submission title. Please note, this category is only available to students whose research will not be completed by the time of the conference.
