Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
Part-time position: 20-25 hours/week Monday-Friday (negotiable). Flexible between the hours of 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. Expected to work in the KPA/KPF office located in Louisville, KY 40222. Flexibility during the pandemic is available.
Work includes staffing external events which may involve out-of-office events up to twice a month. Required to work a 3-day Convention in November and up to two additional Saturdays per year.
Preferred Education and Experience:
College degree or 1-2 years previous administrative experience
Salary: $14.00-$15.00 (Hourly Wage)

Duties and Responsibilities: The position provides operational and administrative support for the small office team and KPA membership. An ideal applicant will have skills in organization, customer service, and day to day association support. The following is a review of the major duties and responsibilities of the position:
1. Membership Relations
a. Email correspondence: Responsible for responding to or triaging communication to other staff in a timely manner.
b. KPA central phone line: Responsible for answering the main phone line and checking messages during work hours.
c. Communicate with supervisors regarding content and volume of member communication.
2. Administrative Tasks
a. Responsible for scheduling and sending meeting invitations for Board and Committee Meetings
b. Assist Board members and committee chairs in identifying meeting times for respective groups
c. Database and Listserv management as assigned by Supervisors
d. Proofreading materials for spelling, grammar, and layout with responsibility for accuracy and clarity of final copy
3. External events and Continuing Education (CE) Coordination
a. Staff external events, including KPA Convention which may involve out-of-office events up to twice a month.
b. Ensure completion of CE follow-up tasks, including processing feedback data and certificate distribution.
c. Maintain an up to date CE tracking database
Miscellaneous Responsibilities
a. Working independently on special projects as assigned, including but not limited to direct mailings, event preparations, elections, and data tracking
b. Light housekeeping (shared by other staff)
c. Some lifting, up to 25lbs
d. Other Tasks as assigned by Executive Director or Office Manager
Knowledge, Training, and Skills Required:
Technological aptitude and familiarity with MS Office Suite programs, specifically Word and Excel as well as Google Workspace.
Problem-solving capability, excellent general communication, interpersonal and phone skills, Thoroughness and attention to detail, Ability to work independently, flexibility, strong organizational skills. Some lifting, up to 25 lbs, required
