About the Presenter
Dr. Amber Billingsley, PhD, is a licensed clinical psychologist and Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Kentucky, where she serves as the Director of the Jesse G. Harris Jr. Psychological Services Center. In her role as a training clinic director, she provides clinical supervision and training to doctoral students in the university’s APA-accredited clinical psychology doctoral program. She also teaches the Professional Development Seminar for clinical students. Dr. Billingsley earned her PhD in Clinical Psychology from West Virginia University, completed her predoctoral internship at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Emory University School of Medicine.

About the Presenter
Dr. Brooke Jacobs is a certified domestic violence advocate and the owner of Delve, an organizational wellness agency specializing in creating and maintaining psychologically safe environments. With over a decade of experience as a trauma treatment service provider, she facilitates trainings and creates programs focused on reducing secondary traumatic stress, burnout, and turnover. Dr. Jacobs combines her expertise in clinical psychology with her passion for fostering resilient organizations through assessing and improving workplace culture.

About the Presenter
Dr. Dan Florell is a Professor at Eastern Kentucky University and he runs a private practice. He trained school psychologists in a graduate program for 20 years. Dr. Florell has a Ph.D. in School Psychology from Illinois State University. He is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP), licensed psychologist, and APA Fellow of Division 16. His main research focus is on cyberbullying, technology, telehealth, professional issues, and the history of school psychology.

About the Presenter
Dr. Roger Harrison (he/him) is a pediatric psychologist with Nemours Children’s Health in Wilmington, Delaware, and clinical associate professor of pediatrics at Sidney Kimmel College of Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University. He received his Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Brigham Young University and completed his pre-doctoral internship and post-doctoral fellowship at Nemours.As a clinician educator, Dr. Harrison supervises and trains graduate students, pre-doctoral interns, and postdoctoral fellows. He provides psychological services to patients and consultation to pediatric primary care providers in the primary care clinics affiliated with Nemours in Wilmington. He is a co-founder and co-chair of the DREAM IPC Conference, a national biennial conference in Wilmington, Delaware that focuses on pediatric integrated primary care. Within the hospital outpatient setting, Dr. Harrison conducts psychological testing for youth with significant mood and/or thought disorders and directs the Parent Child Behavior Clinic, a parent and child group therapy program offered to families of children with behavioral and/or attention concerns. Dr. Harrison currently serves as chair of the Delaware Psychological Association’s diversity committee and is President-Elect of the DPA. He has previously served as Delaware’s diversity delegate to the American Psychological Association’s (APA) Practice Leadership Conference. At Nemours, he co-chairs the Division of Behavioral Health’s diversity subcommittee and facilitates educational and experiential cultural diversity seminars for various professionals.

Discuss the breadth of Western/European cultural experiences which may be projected onto non-white clients suffering from racial stress.
Discuss practical mindfulness and compassion-based techniques which reduce the likelihood of projecting harmful cultural values onto non-white clients.
Assess how clinical mirroring is driven by a framework rooted in neuroscience and the mental health of the clinician.
Discuss the framework of liberation psychology, and how personal mindfulness/compassion-based practices increase the utilization of this framework.
Practice liberatory therapeutic approaches while not sacrificing preferred theoretical orientation or methods.

About the Presenter
Broderick Sawyer, PhD, is a clinical psychologist, clinical trainer, and consultant located in Louisville, Kentucky. With a diverse training background cutting across multiple theoretical orientations (e.g., CBT, psychodynamic, mindfulness, compassion, somatic approaches, etc.), he provides training, consultation, and mentorship to mental health professionals. He also provides immersive training in Applied Liberation Psychology for intersectional cultural competence to assist professionals working with diverse patients. For training and consulting inquiries he can be contacted through his website: Brodericksawyer.com Having received his doctorate in 2018 from the University of Louisville, Dr. Sawyer has quickly established himself as a prolific contributor, already amassing over 200 speaking and training engagements, and producing nearly 20 peer reviewed articles and book chapters thus far in his career. Additionally, Dr. Sawyer is routinely invited as a guest contributor for media outlets, most notably several guest interviews with CNN. Further, along with a visiting faculty appointment at the Nalanda Institute of Contemplative Science, he has collaborated with PsychWire and the Psychotherapy Networker to disseminate Liberation Psychology-focused teachings towards culturally competent mental healthcare.
