ADHD is among the most common behavioral health disorders. This
workshop will provide a deeper understanding of the cognitive, social, beha
vioral, and emotional impairments that are common to ADHD to assist practit
ioners in more effectively assessing for and treating ADHD in children and

About the Presenters:
Paul Crosby, M.D. provides psychiatric consultatio
n to children, adolescents and young adults and their families. He spends p
art of his clinical time treating patients referred from around the country
and internationally to the Sibcy House and Williams House units for compre
hensive diagnostic assessment and treatment of their often complex and high
ly comorbid symptoms.Dr. Crosby joined the medical staff at Lindner Center
of HOPE for the opening of the center in 2008. In 2010, he founded the Cent
er for Attentional Disorders in order to consolidate and coordinate efforts
at the center to provide the best possible assessment and treatment for AD
D/ADHD and the conditions that frequently accompany it such as anxiety diso
rders, mood disorders, learning disabilities, and substance use disorders.
He works to reduce stigma as well as to raise awareness of this often insid
ious illness and its tendency to undermine achievement and success in many
facets of life, including learning, work, relationships, and health. Dr. Cr
osby serves on the professional advisory board for the Suburban Cincinnati
CHADD chapter. He gives talks to professionals and members of the community
on topics related to ADHD and provides consultation to other providers reg
arding attention difficulties and aspects of performance. Prior to working
at Lindner Center of HOPE, Dr. Crosby provided child, adolescent, and adult
psychiatric services primarily for community mental health clients via the
Pine Rest Traverse City Clinic in Traverse City, Michigan and the Manistee
-Benzie Community Mental Health Center in Manistee and Benzie Counties, Mic
higan. While there, he managed the outpatient treatment of children, adoles
cents, and adults with moderate to severe mental illness including disorder
s of behavior, anxiety, and mood; psychosis; the effects of abuse, neglect,
and trauma; and autistic-spectrum illness. Dr. Crosby has also spent time
in private practice, in treating veterans at the VA Medical Center, and wor
king with the homeless mentally ill population in Cincinnati’s Over-the-Rhi
ne neighborhood.
Jennifer Farley, Psy.D. is a psychotherapist and neuropsychol
ogist who specializes in the assessment and treatment of children, adolesce
nts, and young adults. With regard to neuropsychology, she has a particular
interest in the assessment of cognitive disorders such as Attention-Defici
t/Hyperactivity Disorder and learning disorders as well as diagnostic clari
fication of how affective or mood disorders such as anxiety or depression c
omplicate one’s cognitive and socio-emotional functioning. She also conduct
s individual and family therapy for individuals suffering from a wide range
of struggles, from adjustment problems and/or poor self-esteem to symptoms
associated with intense anxiety or depression. Dr. Farley is one of four L
indner Center of HOPE clinicians who completed intensive training in Dialec
tical Behavior Therapy. At different times of the year, she leads a 16-week
Adolescent Dialectical Behavior Therapy Group. She also conducts individua
l Dialectical Behavior Therapy with adolescents and adults. Prior to workin
g at Lindner Center of HOPE, Dr. Farley worked within an outpatient practic
e affiliated with the University of Cincinnati’s Department of Psychiatry c
onducting therapy and neuropsychological evaluations with children, adolesc
ents, and adults. She also helped obtain data for an National Institute of
Health-funded longitudinal study evaluating neurodevelopmental effects of a
ntiepileptic drugs in young children, a study that was published in the New
England Journal of Medicine in 2009.
Joseph Edwards, Psy.D., PLLC has over 24 years of clinical exp
erience in working with children and adolescents, both having done hundreds
of psychological evaluations and as an outpatient therapist. Prior to priv
ate practice, Dr. Edwards worked for 4 years in community mental health (in
both inpatient and outpatient settings) and 4 years as an outpatient clini
cian at the Bingham Child Guidance Center in the Department of Child Psychi
atry at the University of Louisville. After his post-doctoral fellowship in
Clinical Child/Pediatric Health Psychology at the U of L School of Medicin
e. Dr. Edwards served as the Coordinator of the Psychological Assessment Se
rvices at Bingham for 7 years.
David Causey, Ph.D. o
ffers over 20 years of experience as a clinician, educator, and director in
clinical psychology. His clinical expertise focuses on the assessment and
treatment of social developmental delays, obsessive-compulsive conditions,
Tourette syndrome, depression, anxiety, behavior disorders, and learning di
fferences. His treatment approaches include cognitive-behavioral therapy, p
arenting training, family therapy, school consultation, and group therapy.<
br />Dr. Causey completed his Clinical Psychology Internship at Duke Univer
sity Medical Center and earned his doctorate degree from Bowling Green Stat
e University (Ohio) in 1993. He then became a faculty member at the Univers
ity of Louisville, School Of Medicine’s Department of Psychiatry, conductin
g his clinical services with Bingham Child Guidance Center. While at the un
iversity, Dr. Causey was the director of a nationally-accredited child/pedi
atric internship program. In addition, he directed a psychiatric day treatm
ent for youth, provided teaching and supervision to numerous psychology and
psychiatry interns, and conducted extensive therapy and assessment.

r. Causey has published book chapters and journal research articles regardi
ng stress and coping in children. This included the development and publish
ing of a Children’s Coping Questionnaire that has been used by researchers
and clinicians virtually all over the world. Throughout his career and now,
Dr. Causey has provided numerous professional and community-based presenta
tions on topics about child/adolescent coping, development, and adjustment
issues. He is an active member of the Kentucky Psychological Association.As chief staff psychologist at Square One, Dr. Causey performs psycholo
gical and educational evaluations, conducts individual and family therapy s
ervices, leads social skills groups, and guides families for educational pl
acement. Consistent with his desire to provide cutting-edge, evidence-based
treatment options for families, Dr. Causey became Kentucky’s first Cogmed
Qualified Practitioner in 2011.
Todd Johnson, M.Ed.
earned his master’s degree in Educational and Counseling Psychology from th
e University of Louisville and has been in private practice as an evaluator
and therapist with the Center for Attention Deficit Disorders since 1998.
He began treating clients at Square One in June of 2014. Among Todd’s areas
of expertise are attention deficit disorders, autism, stress relief, anxie
ty, depression, and academic planning. Todd’s approaches to therapy integra
te cognitive behavioral techniques with play and artistic expression. Addit
ionally, Todd advises parents and academic professionals in planning meetin
gs to create effective Individual Education Plans (IEP) and 504 plans for h
is patients.
