Frey, Ph.D, LMFT Materials covered in this workshop are adopted from The Assessment and Management of Suicidality (2006) by M. David Rudd, which is a resource guide for clinicians who wish to learn the skills needed to assess, manage, and treat clients at risk for suicidal behavior. This guide covers key components for mitigating suicide risk, and it remains a leading resource for training new and experienced clinicians. About the Presenter: Laura M. Frey, Ph.D, LMFT, is an Assistant Professor in the Kent School of Social Work's Couple and Family Therapy Program at the University of Louisville. She is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and an AAMFT-Approved Supervisor for Marriage and Family Therapy, with extensive experience as an assessment and referral counselor in a psychiatric facility. She served as the conference chair for the 2016 American Association of Suicidology Annual Conference, and she currently serves on the American Association of Suicidology's Early Career Task Force. Her research primarily focuses on the role of family dynamics in the suicide assessment and treatment process, with an emphasis on factors that affect suicide-related disclosure, family reaction, and their impact on treatment-seeking behaviors.

+Any student member needing CE credit must register at the KPA member rate. Event Location It is important to note that APA continuing education rules require that KPA only give credit to those who attend the entire workshop. An evaluation of the workshop must be completed. Those who arrive more than 15 minutes after the scheduled start time or leave before the workshop is complete will not receive CE credit. Partial credit may not be given.
