Let Kentucky Legislators hear your voice - face to face advocacy is critical to the success of KPA’s advocacy work! All KPA members are invited to gather in Frankfort to advocate for issues affecting mental health and the profession and practice of psychology.
Event Highlights:
You will have the opportunity to...
- Participate in individual or group meetings with your legislators
- Meet legislators who have worked closely with KPA
- Attend committee meetings
- Learn more about how the legislative process works and how you can be an effective advocate
- Help increase awareness among policy-makers about KPA, the science and practice of psychology, and issues that affect psychologists and the Kentuckians we serve

Capitol Annex - Frankfort, KY - 8:30 am – 2:00 pm EST (Time is flexible) All times are listed in Eastern Standard Time
- 8:30 AM - 10:30 AM: Room 125
- 10:30 PM - 1:00 PM: Rm 171
- 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM: Cafeteria - Annex Basement
Schedule for Psychology Day, February 24th:
- Please plan to arrive by 8am. Parking and lines to get in the Annex can get quite long
- 8:30 AM – 9:00 AM: Meet in Capitol Annex Room 125 for Orientation, Schedule Pick-up, Tips on Legislative talking points
- 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM: Meet and Greet breakfast with Legislators
- 9:00 AM - 1:30 PM: Individual or group meetings with legislators, as available. You will be accompanied by another KPA member experienced with advocacy if desired. KPA members may also attend Committee Meetings. *If you can attend for only part of the day you will be able to specify that on your registration form
- 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM: Meetings Debrief (Cafeteria)
Recommended Training Call before the event - Sunday, February 22nd - 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm EST
Members attending the event are encouraged to call in to hear more about the talking points, KPA’s Legislative Agenda, up-to-date information on the status of bills we are following, and tips on how to talk to legislators.
*Please register by Friday, February 13th, but the earlier the better to schedule meetings with legislators. Thank you!*
