AM Workshop - Advanced Supervision: Avoiding the pitfalls without avoiding the process, 3 CE Presented by Allison From-Tapp, Psy.D. As supervisors we hold, we witness, we teach, we console, we guide, and we help meet the needs of those we work alongside. We also must remember how to do that for ourselves. This workshop will revisit (briefly) the basics of supervision and then will explore the blurred lines, the demand for self-care, and the need for cultural humility within the supervisory frame. This workshop meets the 3.0-hour advanced supervision requirement for KBEP approved supervisors. Skill Level: Intermediate Workshop Objectives Participants will be able to:
PM Workshop - Domestic Violence: What Psychologists Don’t Know That They Don’t Know, 3 CE Presented by Jerry Bowles, JD & Kathryn Berlá, Ed.D. Practitioners will gain a better understanding of intimate partner violence dynamics (both perpetrator and survivor) and be better prepared to provide appropriate interventions for survivors and their families as a result of this workshop. Attendees will learn about lethality risk factors for the purposes of assessment and will also be trained on the impact of exposure to domestic violence on children. This workshop meets the 3.0-hour domestic violence requirement for KBEP. Skill Level: Appropriate for Beginning, Intermediate, & Advanced Workshop Objectives Participants will be able to:
About the Presenters: Allison From-Tapp, Psy.D. has been a licensed psychologist for almost 20 years. She began supervising in 2001 while working at Bellarmine University and Communicare. She has supervised LPAs under KBEP, LPCAs under the Board of Professional Counselors, and psychology practicum students from both Clinical and Counseling programs. Presently Dr. From-Tapp is the Director of Counseling and Psychological Services at Spalding University. There she provides practicum training and supervision for doctoral students through the Counseling Center. Through CaPS she supervises a post-doctoral fellow and several practicum students. Dr. From-Tapp also maintains a small private practice where she sees adult clients, provides supervision, and performs consultations with individuals, groups, and other universities. She has served on the KPA Board and the Executive Committee of KPA in numerous roles spanning 15 years. Judge Bowles (Ret), JD was a Jefferson County, KY Family Court judge for over 20 years. He is an internationally recognized expert on IPV and has trained judges and other professionals around the world. He currently owns a mediation practice in Louisville where he mediates divorce and custody cases.
Kathryn Berlá, Ed.D. is a licensed psychologist who has been in private practice for almost 25 years in Louisville. In addition to her general psychotherapy practice, she is a court-appointed custody evaluator, expert witness, and functions in other court-appointed roles dealing with high-conflict court-involved families.

It is important to note that APA continuing education rules require that KPA only give credit to those who attend the entire workshop. An evaluation of the workshop must be completed. Those who arrive more than 15 minutes after the scheduled start time or leave before the workshop is completed will not receive CE credit. Partial credit may not be given. Cancellation Policy Cancellations received on/before April 9, 2020, will receive a 90% refund. Cancellations received between April 10 - 13, 2020, will receive a 50% refund and cancellations between April 14 - 15, 2020 will receive a 20% refund. No refunds available after April 15, 2020.
