PM Workshop: Ethical Dilemmas working with LGBTQI Youth, 3 CE

Presented by Christine Brady, Ph.D.

This workshop will present the health and mental health disparities faced by LGBTQI youth and focus on the ethical issues providers may encounter working with this population. Through a series of case examples, applicable ethical codes and law will be reviewed. Skill Level: Intermediate This workshop fulfills the 201 KAR 26:175 requirement for Ethics/Risk Management for Psychologists.

Workshop Objectives

Participants will be able to:

  • Describe health and mental health disparities affecting LGBTQI youth
  • Explain relevant ethical codes and laws/statutes relevant to LGBTQI care
  • Apply content to case examples to inform future practice with this population

About the Presenters:

Christine Brady, Ph.D. received her degree in Child Clinical Psychology from Ohio University. She completed a residency at the University of Washington, Seattle Children’s Hospital where she began to develop an interest in working LGBT youth. She next completed a fellowship at the University of Louisville, Norton Children’s Hospital and continued to develop skills and gain training in transgender care. Dr. Brady helped develop the integrated gender clinic at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis before coming back to the University of Louisville again creating an integrated gender clinic with Endocrinology serving transgender youth.

It is important to note that APA continuing education rules require that KPA only give credit to those who attend the entire workshop.  An evaluation of the workshop must be completed. Those who arrive more than 15 minutes after the scheduled start time or leave before the workshop is complete will not receive CE credit. Partial credit may not be given.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations received on/before June 13, 2019 will receive a 90% refund. Cancellations received between June 14-17, 2019, will receive a 50% refund, and cancellations between June 18- 20, 2019 will receive a 20% refund. No refunds available after June 20, 2019.
